Polysaccharides promote the repairing of the skin and keep it moisturized while glycoproteins are blocking pain and reducing inflammation.

To prepare the Aloe Vera gel in order to use it for some of these conditions you should follow these instructions:

This is what you need:
• An aloe plant
• Freshly squeezed lemon juice
• A sharp filleting knife
• A clean cotton towel
• A sterile glass jar
• A clean plate
• A clean cutting board
• A food processor (optional)

1. First, you need to wash your hands to prevent contamination
2. Choose some thick and juicy leaf that is at least 4-6 inches long. Be careful not to harm other leaves when you are cutting it.
3. Wipe the knife you are using.
4. Wash the leaf, dry it, and then leave it on your plate at a 45° angle for 15 minutes o the yellow juice can be drained. Sometimes this juice acts as a laxative and may lead to digestive problems.
5. Place the leaf on a cutting board. Cut the edges from both sides.
6. Then fillet it in order to remove the green outer shell. Just try not to waste too much gel while doing this.
7. Then, cut the gel in cubes and place them in the jar.
8. In order to harvest any remaining gel, run your knife along the green scraps once again.
9. Squeeze some lemon juice in the jar over the gel to make it last longer.
10. If you wan,t you can put the gel in a food processor in order to make a smoother gel.
11. Store the sealed jar with aloe Vera gel in the fridge, for up to a week.

For treating wounds you should cut the aloe Vera leaf lengthwise and then rub it on the wound several times a day.
For medicinal use, the recommended dosage is 30 ml of the Aloe gel, 3 times per day. But, first you should consult your naturopath.
