This kind of oil is often a mix of two oils: Sunflower oil and a part of pure olive oil. Also, it can be a mix of different olive oils. Producers usually add beta-carotene and chlorophyll. Pay attention to tags such as “extra virgin” and “extra pure”.

How to tell if your olive oil is fake?

If you cool your olive oil in the refrigerator and notice some thickening after, that shows your oil contains more monounsaturated fat. But anyway, this doesn’t mean that it can be contained canola or sunflower oil. However, if you don’t see thickening, then it’s far from extra virgin olive oil.

Quality olive oil should light the oil lamp. If it doesn’t, it is most surely not virgin olive oil.
