More, this pose helps to stimulate the adrenal glands that are located in your back, and near your kidneys. This is why you feel so full of energy after doing them!
Here is how to perform the Cobra pose:
Lie flat on your belly. Spread your hands under your shoulders. Hug your elbows to your sides. Get your lower back stabilized by firming the abdominal muscles. Start lifting your upper body, keeping your neck long. Imagine your pelvis, tops and thighs rooted to the ground. Straighten as much as you feel comfortable. This activity is supported by the arms, but the main work should be performed by the paraspinal muscles in your back. Breathe calmly and hold for 5 – 10 breaths. Gently release your body on the floor as you exhale. Repeat this 3 times.
