Anemia is a condition where the blood has a low number of red blood cells, which causes a low blood count. This occurs because the red blood cells don’t contain enough hemoglobin, a protein rich in iron that gives the blood its red color.

What Causes Anemia?

Several factors and conditions can cause anemia:

• Iron deficiency
• Kidney disease
• Poor nutrition
• Pregnancy
• Vitamin B12 deficiency (known as pernicious anemia)
• Alcohol
• Sickle cell anemia
• Thalassemia
• Bone marrow related anemia
• Hemolytic anemia
• Aplastic anemia
• Active bleeding (menstrual heavy bleeding).

Symptoms of Anemia

The lower number of red blood cells means that less oxygen is coming to the body’s tissues, and actually this lack of oxygen causes anemia. These are the symptoms of anemia:

• Fatigue
• Weakness
• Looking pale
• Decreased energy
• Shortness of breath
• Palpitations

Treating Anemia With Beetroot Juice

Beet juice is most likely the best natural cure for anemia. It contains great cleansing properties with a high content of iron that recovers red blood cells while supplying oxygen and boosting the blood count.
As an excellent source of iron, beets are a powerful natural tool for reversing anemia.
It is especially beneficial for women during the menstrual cycle and when going through the menopause.
For best results it is recommended to drink one cup of blended beet juice per day. The basic blend is with carrot juice. You can also add apples, pineapple, cucumber, coconut flesh or spinach depending on what other conditions you want to cure.
