Anti-Aging Herbs to Slow Down The Aging Process And Increase The Lifespan
Herbs can play a principal role in reducing the signs of the aging process. Anti-aging herbs can slow down the aging by helping improve cell reproduction, boost immunity, increase blood circulation, and boost other body’s functions. These herbs are easy to include in everyday nutrition because many of them can be added as a spice to different dishes.
Anti-aging herbs are ideal for good aging because they’re natural, rich in antioxidants, and have been confirmed to treat a wide spectrum of aging-related issues.
Chris Kilham, an ethnobotanist who researched medicinal plants, recommends these herbs for anti-aging and longevity:
1. Red Onion
Chris Kilham suggests eating red onions instead of yellow onions because of the lower level of sulfur. But both have antioxidants like kaempferol and quercetin, which fight inflammation and cancer, and boost immunity. They can also reduce your “bad” cholesterol and your risk of stroke and heart attack.
Turmeric contains curcumin, a substance that can boost immunity, enhance cardiovascular function and improve brain function. Also, it has remarkable anti-inflammatory properties and can be used for relieving pain. Add turmeric to your meals or use it as a supplement.
3. Holy Basil
Holy basil is also called tulsi. It is an antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and antifungal plant that has been used in ancient Indian Ayurvedic medicine to prevent diabetes and fight cancer. Basil is a good addition to spicy soups and stir-fry.
4. Reishi mushrooms
Research has shown that these little mushrooms may be effective at enhancing your immune system and combating cancer. They are also called as the “mushrooms of immortality”. Reishi can be found in dry form in supermarkets or Chinese stores. People consume them in soups or into a tea.
Two or three cups of coffee daily can protect against respiratory problems, diabetes and heart disease, according to Kilham.
Ok, this is not an herb, but chanting and singing every day can reduce stress and exercise the heart, lungs, abs, and back muscles. Kilham suggest to make time for this age-old method each day.
